Force Technical sgt Verne J.A. Grant.
Sgt Grant served as Photomapping Specialist for 20 years. His skill as an
artist provided our ADC(Air Defence Command) with accurate maps on
plotting boards, Technical illustrations in Air Force manuals to assist
mechanic in repairs on aircraft and many other tpyes of equipment used by
the military. His first assignment was a radar site in Montana and then
North Dakota, Hopedale Labordor, Amarill0 Texas, and Selfridge Michigan. 1965
placed him in Vietnam assisting Gen Westmoreland at Than S0n Nhut until
December when a bomb went off at the hotel causing minor injuries and a
trip back to Selfridge for only 5 months. The next 13 years were spent at
Hickam in Hawaii.
