steven e massie: sgt major, us army
Chapter 887 of the Vietnam Veterans of America proudly salutes our very
own Sgt Maj Steve Massie, US Army Military Police, ret, veteran of both
Korea and Vietnam. Sgt Massie entered the Army in Aug 1953,
activated from the National Guard, and saw duty in Korea, earning the
Korean Service medal and the ROK Presidential Unit citation. Upon
completion of Korean service, Sgt Massie had numerousl assignments
stateside and in Europe. In 1965 Sgt Massie departed for Cholon, Vietnam,
assigned to the 716 MP Battalion, and saw duty in both river patrol and
motor patrol, earning the Navy Commendation medal as well as numerous
decorations from the US Army. Sgt Massie is a charter member of
Chapter 887, as well as past Post Commander of VFW Post 9985 and past
Commander of the DAV. Sgt Massie has devoted countless hours providing
assistance and support to the Dominican Home for the Handicapped.
